Good Wednesday morning to you!

During a live concert with the Eagles, guitarist Joe Walsh was recorded telling a fan who was lighting off firecrackers in the audience to go home, get in a closet and light off as many of those fireworks as he wanted to — in so many words. That advice applies for vandalism, too. Vandals are welcome to spray paint their home walls, break out their windows and let off all the smoke bombs they want on their property, as long as they don’t impede on anyone else’s rights. Put when they break out windows of a private business, spray paint a police car or invade the nation’s capitol buildings, they should expect the strictest of consequences.
I learned my lesson when I was 8 years old. I thought it would be funny to throw an egg at a neighbor’s garage. That neighbor saw me do it, and she didn’t think it was funny. She made me clean it up and then told my mother, who didn’t think it was funny either. Mom introduced my rear end to a bread board, and that was the end of any fascination I had with vandalism. Maybe America needs more bread boards — or consequences with my mother.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, and thanks for reading.

Wednesday Recipe

Simple white bread

Plain and simple, this is a fool-proof bread recipe. My cousin sent me this recipe during the beginning of the pandemic, and it filled my house full of wonderful smells. I’ve made this bread lots of times over the past few months, and it’s very simple. Making bread always sounded technical and complicated, but this one is straight forward — my kind of recipe. Enjoy the smells of carbs in your kitchen!

FROM WHO-TV 13: New Iowa Voting Restriction Law Faces Immediate Challenge in Court

DES MOINES, IOWA — Less than 24 hours after Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill putting new restrictions on voting in Iowa, a lawsuit has been filed challenging it. The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) filed the suit in Polk County on Tuesday. Personalities

Smiths rejuvenate one of town's oldest homes.

Growing up in nearby De Soto, Bryce Smith got to know the Adel community fairly well as a youngster, especially since he worked at the town’s bowling alley during high school before heading off to college. As it so happened, right when Smith graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with his teaching degree, he learned that the bowling alley’s owner was looking to retire. As someone who loved the business and Adel itself, Smith decided to take over the Adel Family Fun Center.
Because they wanted to be close to the business, he and his partner, Kale, initially purchased a small bungalow in town that they knew they’d only be in until they found something more permanent — something with character and a bit of history behind it. In November 2019, they moved to just the place.
