Good Tuesday morning to you!

Does this email sit alone in your in-box, or does it join thousands of others that you haven’t dealt with yet? Believe it or not, the answer to that question says a lot about your personality, at least according to a 2020 article at businessinsider.com.
This very interesting piece says there are three different types of people, based on how they clean (or don’t clean) their email:
     1. The filer/deleter is someone who sees a message in his or her inbox and takes action immediately. This person’s emails typically are around zero. The brain of a filer/deleter is "uniquely wired to react negatively when faced with a bunch of unread messages.” This person needs order and control.
     2. The saver has few unread emails but rarely deletes a message after reading. These folks tend to have one of two personalities, according to the article. Some are perfectionists with long and un-useful to-do lists and “a bunch of clothes that need to be mended sitting in the back of the closet.” Others save the already-read emails for the sense of security it gives to them to believe they could find it later if they really needed to.
     3. The ignorer does not read or delete emails. Those who do this can be perceived as being lazy or disinterested. Being an ignorer can also signify that the person is overwhelmed or disengaged. The article states that the opposite can also be true, and these tendencies can signal that a person recognizes that “monitoring and organizing emails isn't helping achieve progress.” The article also claims that some email ignorers might actually be more organized and productive than everyone else.
So which one are you? And how about your co-workers? Or your family members? You might want to pass this one around.
Make it a terrific Tuesday and, as always, thanks for reading (and checking your email).

Reis, a passionate decorator, adds personal touches to home

By Lindsey Giardino

Since both Becca Reis and her husband, Jesse, grew up in small Iowa communities, they wanted to settle down in a town similar to the ones they were raised in.
That town ended up being Polk City, where they moved to in April 2013. At the time they arrived, Fareway wasn’t even built yet, so the couple has enjoyed seeing Polk City’s growth and enhancements over the years.
They initially lived in a home in the Marina Cove neighborhood, which was then the perfect size for the couple, but, as they started their family, they desired a place with the potential to grow into.
In 2016, they found just the spot in the Lost Lakes neighborhood. A two-story with a large yard, the Reis home is exactly what they were looking for. It also sits on a horseshoe-like street, so it doesn’t see a lot of traffic — a benefit since their girls are 3 and 4 years old and enjoy playing outside.

Paragon Prairie Tower, located at Marsh/Mercer at 123th and Meredith in Urbandale. “Prairie Tower” is the largest Italian glass mosaic tile mural in the United States and pays homage to the history of the native Iowa prairie, depicting big bluestem grass, black-eyed Susans, and other colors found in the landscape of field and sky. The image was transferred to tiles, affixed to a mesh material in Ravenna, Italy, then shipped to the site for installation.
